Experience
I earned my BA from the University of Delaware, which was in Social Science, with a concentration in Education. After that, I continued on and earned my master's in Secondary and Special Education. Now, I teach special education in Passaic Valley, at a high school. One of the things my job entails is being available to tutor students after their classes to guide them towards understanding, no matter what type of learner they are. Although my degree is in social sciences, I tutor all types of subjects, including writing and reading skills, a number of AP subjects, and preparation for standardized test, such as the SAT. I believe that basic reading and writing are necessary skills for all students, no matter what kind of career they choose to pursue after graduation. I have learned through all of my teaching and tutoring experience that students each have a learning style, and this is key to success. As a tutor, I look for that method of teaching that clicks with each child, and once we find that, I am better able to guide the student in their understanding of a subject. In my spare time, I am involved in coaching high school football and wrestling.
